This is how you draw cartoon people.

• Plan
• Draw the head
• Draw the body
• Draw detail

-PLAN-

First of all you need to plan your character. You can base this on people you know and their nicknames or interests. If the person is a football fanatic then you could draw their character with a football kit and scarf around their neck every single time you draw him. or if their nickname has something to do with an object you can draw that object with arms and legs.

-Draw the head-

Now you draw the head. First you draw a circle and draw a line from the top to the bottom. Then another line from the left to the right.

THE CIRCLE AND LINES SHOULD BE LIGHT AS THEY WILL BE ERASED OUT LATER. 

Draw a big 'm' (But not a bubble letter) on the horizontal line and two eyes in the middle. Draw a circle where the two lines meet in the middle for the nose. You should now have a set of eyes and nose. From the bottom of the circle  draw a free-hand line which passes the nose and goes about ½cm above the eyes and down the other side. Add a mouth. You can now erase the lines and circle. You should end up with something that looks like this.
